Wonderful House in Witzeezerschleuse with Lockable Garden and Beautiful View

This holiday house offers enough room for three people. It is situated in Witzeeze, a village in the Duchy of Lauenburg which is a county in the Hamburg Metropolitan Region in the north of Germany. Witzeeze is close to the Lauenburg Nature Park and about 15 km south of the highway “A24” which connects the two cities Hamburg and Berlin.

Besides the large garden, there is a carport attached to the house and one additional parking spot in front of the carport. Within walking distance of the house there are two greater parking lots for guests. Also, you can find a lockable garden shack with garden furniture and place for bicycles in our garden.

We offer one bedroom with a double bed and one bedroom with a single bed. The spacious living room includes a dining area and a comfortable TV area. When sitting in the living room you have a beautiful view over the well-maintained large garden as well as the Elbe-Lübeck-Canal. On the canal you can watch inland waterway crafts, speedboats, or wildlife such as deer or migrant birds. The holiday house includes a new kitchen and a newly renovated bathroom with a shower. Further facilities: bed linen, towels, hair dryer, electric kettle, toaster, satellite TV, DVD player, radio/cd player, a small game collection, electric blinds and an electric awning.

The real highlight of this house is the bathing area at the lake “Kiessee 8” within 150m of the house. Further options for swimming include the public lake bath at the lake “Forellensee” (approx. 500 meter), the public outdoor pool “Waldschwimmbad” in Büchen (approx. 4 km), the public outdoor pool in Lauenburg (approx. 10 km) and the new indoor pool “Möllner Welle” in Mölln (approx. 25 km). Hobby fisherman can buy temporary fishing permits for the local lakes and rivers at shoe house “Fischer” in Büchen. In Lauenburg there is a marina with about 70 places for speed boats. In the fall and spring migratory birds such as wild geese and cranes rest in close distance to the house. You can see them fly over the house, listen to their “singing” or study them at their rest places. Here are some ideas for daytrips in the cold season: In October and November local fire departments offer neat latern marches, during the advent time (starting four weeks before Christmas day) there are beautiful Christmas markets such as at “Gut Basthorst”, and before Easter you can visit Easter fires in most villages around Witzeeze. Witzeeze’s sights are reachable in walking distance within minutes: the lock at the Elbe-Lübeck-Canal and the historic 18th-century lock “Dückerschleuse” at the river Stecknitz/Delvenau - its roots go back to the Middleages. In Witzeeze is a bakery truck and the delicious reastaurant “Zum Lindenkrug”. Nearby is Büchen where you will find the public outdoor pool and shopping stores (supermarkets and some of the most necessary retail stores), and an interesting exhibition about the former inner-German border in the “Priesterkate” where on special days coffee and cake is being sold. In Lauenburg you can visit the beautiful old town and stroll along the Elbe. Further old towns worth to be seen can be found in Mölln, Ratzeburg and Boizenburg. Starting in Büchen, you can travel to the Hamburg city center by train within 35 minutes. The trains also go to Lübeck, Schwerin and Lüneburg once an hour. Those three cities are beautiful sights and by train as well as by car easily and quickly reached! You can even consider a day trip to the Baltic Sea or to Berlin, both is possible from our location. Whatever your interests and plans are – our house could be a great home base to discover Germany’s north!

    Leider gibt es kein Internet, was zu verschmerzen ist. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten gibt es im nahegelegenen Büchen. Die nahegelegene Gaststätte am Kanal bietet leider kein Essen an. Die Dorfgaststätte ist nicht täglich geöffnet, der Bäcker wegen Krankheit geschlossen.
